![]() Ranking Member Bob Gibbs (R-OH) Rep. Bob Gibbs, whose Ohio district reaches toward the outskirts of Cleveland and the shores of Lake Erie, is a long-serving Member of the Committee who was selected to serve his first term as Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee Ranking Member in the 116th Congress. Rep. Gibbs is also the former Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee and, over the years, has worked to improve the Nation’s water resources infrastructure and ensure a more common sense regulatory structure. Subcommittee Jurisdiction: The Subcommittee also has jurisdiction over regulation of ocean shipping and the merchant marine, except as it relates to national security. One of the Subcommittee’s regular priorities is legislation to authorize the Coast Guard’s programs and to support and strengthen the important missions of one of the Nation’s five armed services.
