Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) wrote Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell following up on a letter from July 2022 where he raised concerns about the diversion of FEMA resources, workforce, and expertise to deal with illegal immigration and the Biden Administration’s crisis at the southern border.

In the letter, Chairman Graves noted that "FEMA has failed to substantively respond to all our inquiries. Specifically, your response to the July 27, 2022, letter was received 82 days after the requested deadline and failed to include responses to all questions."
